Albizia

Description

The genus Albizia, commonly known as “silk tree” or “Constantinople acacia”, embraces nature with a distinctive grace. Native to tropical and subtropical regions, Albizia displays its charm through unique botanical characteristics and unmistakable aesthetic appeal.

The leaves, usually bipinnate, adorn the branches in a feathery pattern. This structure gives Albizia a visual elegance, especially when gently swaying in the breeze. The flowers, arranged in clusters or spikes, capture attention with their ephemeral beauty. The mauve-pink tones of some species add a vibrant note to the landscape.

After flowering, it produces flattened pods containing seeds. These pods, along with the foliage, contribute to the tree’s attractiveness even after the flowers fade. Ranging in stature from shrubs to medium-sized trees, this tree displays a crown form that can be rounded and expansive, providing shade and great presence.
