Description
Croton (Codiaeum variegatum) is a popular plant known for its showy, colorful leaves, making it a popular choice for both indoor and ornamental gardens.
The leaves of the croton are its most distinctive feature. They can vary in size and shape, but are generally large and lanceolate. Most notable is the wide range of colors they can have, including red, yellow, orange, green, purple and pink.
Crotons prefer bright light and need at least 6 hours of sunlight a day to maintain their vibrant coloration. However, they should be protected from intense direct sunlight, as this can damage their leaves. They prefer warm temperatures and do not tolerate intense cold.
