Sikkinensis Red Tiger

Description

Musa sikkimensis, also known as Sikkim Banana or Himalayan Banana, is a species of plant belonging to the genus Musa. It is native to the mountainous regions of the Himalayas, specifically Sikkim, a region in northeastern India.

This species of Musa can grow to a height of approximately 3 to 6 meters. The leaves are large and fan-shaped, being substantially wider than the leaves of other banana species, giving it a lush appearance.

An outstanding feature of Musa sikkimensis is its cold hardiness compared to other banana species. It can withstand lower temperatures than many other tropical banana varieties and is able to grow in cooler climates. One variety of this plant is the Red Tiger, which can withstand hard frosts.
