Description
Tradescantia, commonly known as “Spiderwort” is a genus of perennials that are easy to care for and have great ornamental appeal.
These plants are popular because of their beautiful leaves and their ability to thrive in a variety of conditions.
Tradescantia has showy and variegated leaves. Depending on the species and variety, the leaves can be of different colors, including green, purple, pink and silver.
Most Tradescantias are creeping or trailing plants, making them ideal for hanging baskets or ground cover in gardens and containers. Their flowers are small in the form of trios of petals.
This plant prefers bright but indirect light.
It can tolerate some direct sunlight, but it is important to avoid intense sunlight during the hottest hours of the day, as this could burn the leaves.
